I am Tom Bennett, the Mayor of the City of Metroville. In our city, we face a significant challenge: The parking situation in our urban centers is strained, leading to traffic congestion and increased environmental impacts. To improve this situation, we would like to initiate the SmartPark project. Our goal is to make the use of urban parking space more efficient and to provide our citizens and visitors with a stress-free parking experience.
We are looking for an innovative software company that can develop a holistic solution that not only meets the technical requirements but can also be seamlessly integrated into the urban context. Your task would be to develop a mobile app – we are considering the name “ParkEase” – that provides real-time information about available parking spots. This app should offer intuitive navigation aids to guide users to the quickest route to an available parking space.
Additionally, we are interested in the development of a back-end system that collects and analyzes parking space usage data. This information is not only important for the direct navigation of our citizens but also for our city planners and traffic managers, who can better control traffic flows based on these data. Another important feature would be the integration of payment functions for parking fees directly into the app, to enable a seamless user experience.
Key stakeholders in this project are the local business owners and commercial facilities that would directly benefit from an improved parking situation. Equally important are the technical teams that will maintain and further develop the IoT infrastructure on which our system will be based.
We also place the utmost importance on adhering to the highest data protection standards, as we want to ensure a high level of trustworthiness among our citizens. The system must therefore be secure, reliable, and scalable to handle the growing number of users and data volumes.
